{"id":52,"date":"2017-01-15T20:50:13","date_gmt":"2017-01-15T20:50:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jengajumuiya.org\/?page_id=52"},"modified":"2018-01-29T16:10:45","modified_gmt":"2018-01-29T16:10:45","slug":"education","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.jengajumuiya.org\/?page_id=52","title":{"rendered":"LENGILORITI SCHOOL PROJECT: PHASE 2: TANZANIA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Jenga Jumiuya\u00a0<\/strong>is\u00a0currently raising funds to\u00a0build a toilet structure at the Lengiloriti School in the Monduli area of rural Tanzania.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aim:<\/strong>\u00a0Jenga Jumuiya\u00a0has already funded the construction of two classrooms and completed two additional classrooms for this project in 2017 (Phase 1). In order to register the school with the government and properly utilize these facilities, a toilet structure must be built to accommodate the children attending (Phase 2).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong>\u00a0The\u00a0project is\u00a0expected to cost\u00a0$7,000 for this\u00a0Phase 2 endeavor, outlined above.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beneficiaries:<\/strong><br \/>\nAs with all projects facilitated by Jenga Jumuiya, a named that means \u201cBuilding Community\u201d in Swahili, the Lengiloriti\u00a0\u00a0School Project is borne from the needs of the local community.<\/p>\n<p>The school will\u00a0serve the villages of Lengiloriti, Lorkisale, Engorika, Naalarami, Embarurwai and Moita, a population of roughly 15,000 in total.\u00a0The land for the school &#8212; more than 20 hectares &#8212; has been donated by the local villages and is located 27km from the main road. The next nearest school is roughly 15km away.<\/p>\n<p>Initially about 750\u00a0children will benefit directly from the project. While indirectly, the project will benefit further generations, the parents and relatives of these children, and the outlying communities surrounding the school.<\/p>\n<p>The project was requested\u00a0specifically\u00a0by the community with the hope that by giving their children an opportunity to excel in life through education,\u00a0the well-being of the community as a whole would improve, thereby breaking the cycle of poverty\u00a0that currently exists.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our Process:<\/strong>\u00a0As with all Jenga Jumuiya projects, we will be working closely\u00a0with the community to complete this project. The village has donated a significant plot of\u00a0land for this project and will also help to provide the sand, gravel, and labor required for the construction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Jenga Jumiuya:<\/strong>\u00a0Jenga Jumuiya is a US-based registered 501c3 Non-Profit Organization focused on supported education in developing countries.
